The activities in intramurals are: soccer, basketball, football, floor hockey, kickball, scooters, jumping rope, and various tag games.
Kilometer Club
Did you know that becoming fit through cardiovascular exercise wakes up a hormone in your body who's only job is to simulate brains cells that are normally fast asleep? Research has proven that when more of our brain cells are awakened, learning becomes easier! Cool! Is it time for you to have a WAKE UP call to your brain?
Cimarron’s kilometer club will meet from 7:15 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday ,and Thursday this year. We will meet at the track across from the school. All students, parents, and teachers can participate in this program. You may jog or wog (Walking fast) up to nine laps every day or as few as one. (Every three laps equals 1 kilometer....4.5 laps to the mile.) A record of your laps will be kept by Ms. Gillis. When you have reached 25 kilometers you will receive a certificate and become an official member of the Cimarron Kilometer Club. Continue jogging and you can reach the 50 K., 100 K., and 200 K. certificates. Members need to commit to come at least 2 times per week. By participating regularly the Kilometer Club, you will receive the cardiovascular benefits both mentally and physically. What a great way to start off your day.
At the end of the school year the top three places in accumulated laps will receive trophies for their efforts. Remember that it is not how fast you can jog, it’s that you do jog or walk every day that puts you in the run for the medals and a healthier you.
Percussion Club
Mrs. Ewing is pleased to announce a new music club being offered this year for 4th and 5th grade students called the Percussion Club. This is a club for all/any students interested in playing the drums, xylophones, maracas, triangles, claves, shakers, scrapers, woodblocks and many more miscellaneous instruments in the percussion family. Our focus will be about learning how to play together as an ensemble group, keeping steady beat and learning more difficult and intricate rhythms. In addition, we will learn all about the wonderful world of percussion music by playing music that honors multi-cultural traditions and melodies. We meet on Tuesdays after school from 2:30 to 3:30. Our first concert is Thursday, December 17th at 7pm and our second concert is Thursday, May 13th at 7pm. Please contact Nicole Ewing with any questions, comments or concerns at (720)886-8127 or newing@cherrycreekschools.org
Recorder Club
The recorder club is a music club for students in 4th and 5th grade. The main focus of this club is to prepare students for a concert band or orchestra ensemble when they reach middle school. We heavily review rhythms, note names and counting with emphasis on correct posture, breathing and hand position. This club is for students who already have a background knowledge of music from regular music class and wish to take their skills to a higher level. As this is a serious commitment, practice charts are sent home weekly and students are expected to practice their instrument for 20 minutes, 5 days a week. The student who practices the most minutes each week will be awarded the “star student” award and will be recognized at our concert. We meet on Thursdays after school from 2:30 – 3:45. Our first concert is Thursday, December 17th at 7pm and our second concert is Thursday, May 13th at 7pm. Please contact Nicole Ewing with any questions, comments or concerns at (720)886-8127 or newing@cherrycreekschools.orgArt Club

Parent signature forms are given out once in September and once in January. The club is only open to 25 students each session. For more information, please contact: Dan Lopez at 720-886-8126.
